A Glimpse
My first pop up restaurant was everything. "It gave what it needed to give" as they say!
Spent the morning of buying floral, dropping off rentals, picking up the menu, all the things. But it wasn't stressful at all. All the vendors knew what needed to be done, had pictures and photos of the venue so were fully aware of the space.
I arrive about 3:30, as the cocktail hour started at 5pm. Haul all the items into the building, floral, table linens, wine, water and ice. It's hot, but man this is actually coming together. The table is set, vendors in place, doors open at 5:30. And the ooohs and aahhs lets me know the presentation hit right were it needed to.
I was taken back by my VIP's actually confirming their attendance and showing up. Like these gentlemen have demanding schedules and families. They saved the excuses and gave support, invaluable.
The event went off smoothly, all the vendors arrived on time. We started on time! Man it was just everything. They all raved about the presentation, attention to detail. The entertainment, service and fellowship. They experienced the vision but also saw what the restaurant can and will be. And they're excited which encourages and motivates me. They see the vision. Wow. Yep, this can happen.
I felt like I owned a restaurant that day. A restauranteur. For that moment I stepped into the vision, felt it, was present in it, hear the laughter, the affirming words, the support. And seen another image of the ribbon cutting.
Exhales. This is about to happen.
